The Finnish Innovation System

Thursday, May 11, 2006

Governments are increasingly activating themselves as facilitators and nurturers of innovation. Some countries have been considered to have been more successful than others in this respect. One such country is Finland. Synocus and Johan Wallin have been asked to participate in the 26th Annual International Conference of the Strategic Management Society to have a presentation in a “Common Ground” session on the topic of the governance perspectives of the Finnish Innovation System.

The conference is to be held in Vienna, Austria, at the end of October 2006. It will provide an opportunity to have highly interactive, moderated conversations around a set of research papers related to this topic.

For those who are interested to provide insights into the preparation of the paper, please contact Mr. Ville Kuusela at Synocus (ville.kuusela@synocus.com) to learn more.

Especially when comparing different innovation systems, the comparison between the Finnish way and the Chinese way is something that would be highly interesting to reflect upon.  Chinese experts in this area are therefore invited to contact us to present their views on this interesting topic.
